What Xtruder does

A focused converter for steel detailers: STEP in, production-ready NC1 out, with a usable BOM along the way.

1. Reads any STEP file

Drop in a .stp / .step from SolidWorks, Inventor, Tekla, Advance Steel or any CAD system. Xtruder parses geometry directly — no IFC middleman, no manual settings.

2. Profile auto-detection

Cross-section is sliced and matched against the European section database. Profile name, h, b, tw, tf and a confidence percentage land in the BOM automatically.

3. Holes, cuts & notches

Round holes (incl. through-flange), slots, end copes and corner notches are extracted with DSTV coordinates — ready for your CNC saw or beam line.

4. Editable BOM

Every row editable. Bulk-set material across all rows. Per-material density drives the weight calc — switch from S355 to SS304 and weights update instantly.

5. DSTV V7 compliant

Output follows the DSTV V7 spec (the one most modern beam lines actually read). Hole y-coordinates measured from flange edge, signed slot angles, full feature set.

6. BOM export

Toggle “Include BOM” and the converter writes an Excel file alongside the NC1 batch. Branded header, column totals, per-project numbering.
